Shit I Dig: Star Killer

With the hubbub that was CMJ, it’s pretty easy to forget CBGB fest was the week before!

Manhattan was blaring with guitar riffs and packed with people with cool haircuts, leather jackets and corsets…yup, saw a lot of corsets.

In the midst of admiring people 20x cooler than I, I got the opportunity to catch this awesome band called Star Killer at Grit N’ Glory (A Rock N Roll lifestyle boutique that I enjoyed myself quite a bit in) which made my night.

Star Killer is a five piece rock band from New York. The guys just released their debut full length entitled You Are a Witness last week featuring the singles “You Are a Witness” and “Killing Tomorrow.”

I give these guys another year before they’re EXTREMELY popular. Plus, their live sets are truly a sight to behold. It’s always good to see pure Rock n Roll alive and well, which these guys have been doing since 2011. To quote the band’s Facebook page “All it takes is seeing Star Killer live once and you immediately understand why they quickly became fan favorites. Star Killer have taken their heavy alternative rock meets industrial sound, and crossed it with a nihilistic “fuck the world before the world fucks you” sensibility.”

Amen to that!
