Showcase of the Unknowns

Basic RGB

In case you missed it, there was a pretty awesome party in Bushwick this past Friday night. The underground and the unknowns displayed their musical talents for a basement full of people (yup!) who I’m sure didn’t know what to expect.  With a wide range of genres and an even more eclectic crowd, Shorewave Haus became a den of interesting characters and musicians alike!

The night started off with The Roads’ Justin Ferraro playing some of his solo work. Debuting songs from his upcoming EP “The Graves Light”, Justin got the night started the way it was supposed to be started…with a guitar and a drum of course!

Niko Darklee hit the stage next along with DRSTRNGLUV and hit us with some Accident Prone cuts. The crowd (myself included) was mesmerized by the intoxicating beats and how Niko’s flow on them were damn near flawless! If you haven’t seen Niko or AcPro play a show yet you are truly missing out!

Yonkers based band And The Traveler were up third. Fresh off a show at Trash Bar earlier that night, these guys came and rocked the house (literally and figuratively) and left just as fast as they came. True rock star shit but I love them!

Fuzzpop from DC in the form of The Sea Life graced fourth.  Also fresh off a show earlier that night but not bothered by it one bit. Their set came complete with great music and jokes that had me LOL’ing the whole time. Check these guys out if you haven’t yet!

Electomania in the form of Dancinatra showed up to close the show.  Keeping up with the two shows a night trend, these guys came ready to party. The Austin based duo had us dancing for their entire set, which lasted about thirty minutes.

Not bad for the first event I ever set up, huh?!?!

Thanks so much to everyone who came out, everyone who supports me and Shorewave Records, all the bands and all my friends who helped out even though you guys didn’t have to. Let’s do it again next year!

Later,

Lito
