Blouse: My New Obsession!

Blouse is a 3- piece synth dream-pop band from Portland. The band consists of Charlie Hilton, Jacob Portrait (Unknown Mortal Orchestra), and Patrick Adams.

The name of the band was inspired by a sticker on a dry cleaning window (AWESOME!!) and they managed to signed a deal with Captured Tracks (one of my favorite indie labels!)

So..why is this band worth mentioning?

Besides the fact that they’re TOTALLY AWESOME!…they’re music is totally chill! Think Craft Spells or Chairlift and you’ll be on the right track.

They’ll be performing 1/31 in Brooklyn (285 Kent Avenue to be exact!) along with Cosmetics and I can’t wait!!!(especially since January’s been lacking in the “good show” department)

Here’s one of my favorite Blouse tracks, and one that I look forward to hearing live on the 31st called Controller

My closing statement to 2011

It’s amazing that I’m 23 years old and I still learning. Sometimes I think “I’ve been through so much there’s not much else I could learn.

This year I’ve learned that there are so many layers to a person (myself included) and someone can just peel away at those layers so easily if you give them that power.

Trust me….this is a year long lesson and one that I think is vital, not just when it comes to knowing yourself, but when it comes to communicating with others as well.

I’ve also learned that it’s ok to be proud of myself sometimes and I am SO proud of myself. I just got my Associates degree in business management and I’m going for my Bachelor’s . I have an internship with a company that I really love, and I’m looking forward to spending another year with.

I’m SO ready to work my ass off even harder in 2012  and make enough money to sustain myself in this crazy ass city.

So goodbye 2011, you’ve taught me so much. All of which I will carry with me through not only 2012, but the rest of my life.

Lito
